Matrix-style digital rain for the Tandy / TRS-80 Color Computer 3.
This is a standalone CoCo 3 visual effect I built for fun, with bright foreground streams, darker background rain, fading tails, and a gradual startup.
Work in progress: Matrix Digital Rain is a hobby project, so the visuals, timing, builds, and requirements may keep changing.
Video note: The music in this video was added for atmosphere. The CoCo 3 is running the digital rain effect only and is not playing the music. Watch on YouTube ↗
About the effect
Matrix Digital Rain recreates the familiar falling-code look as a native Color Computer 3 graphics demo. Streams start slowly, build up over time, move at different speeds, and fade into the black background.
It is an unofficial hobby project inspired by the digital-rain look. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Matrix films or their rights holders.
Download and run
